BIOGRAPHY
Having heard the piano at home throughout his childhood, music became an unquestionable passion at a very early age. Taylor's musical journey began at the piano and eventually ended up at the french horn. Throughout his youth his musical interest skipped and jumped from instrument to instrument year after year. First piano, then flute, oboe, guitar, baritone saxophone, trumpet, mellophone and finally the french horn. Taylor was lead trumpet in the Colorado All-State Jazz band and also section french horn in the All-State Concert Band in high his final year of studies at Pueblo County High.
Taylor holds a Bachelor’s degree in horn performance from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master’s degree in horn from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (6 months of ERASMUS spent at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary) and a Master's degree in Management and Direction of the Cultural and Creative Industries from the Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes. Since completing his formal studies, he has performed with ensembles across Europe and the United States including: I Solisti del Vento, Solothurn Statdorchester, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Bayerische Philharmonie, Philharmonie MERCK, Kammerphilharmonie Mannheim, Lakebrass, Pueblo Symphony Orchestra (featured soloist), La Camarata Antonio Soler, Orquesta Metropolitana de Madrid, Theresia Orchestra (Fondazione iCons), and El Teatre Instrumental.
He has had the great fortune to travel, study and perform all around Europe and currently lives on the island of Menorca off the eastern coast of Spain where he is professor of horn at the EMAC school in Ciutadella de Menorca, founder/director of Marching Band Menorca, and member of RiuDolç Brass, Szimpla Duo, the MenorcaBrass Ensemble and the Orquestra de Cambra Illa de Menorca.
